The HCG diet is not very difficult to understand, but it may be difficult for some people, actually many people to stick to it. However, once you choose to go on this diet and once you follow all the rules, you can rest assured that you will lose weight as soon as possible and usually much quicker than you think. The HCG diet is very strict, but this is what makes it so efficient.
In addition to taking HCG drops, which are crucial, a person also must follow a very strict diet plan that allows only 500 calories a day. There is no denying that this is a very small amount of calories, but when all the meals are planned sensibly, HCG diet does not have to be so difficult to stick to.
For breakfast, people should have some coffee or tea with only one tsp of milk, which is how much milk is actually allowed during the day according to this diet. Artificial sweeteners can be added, but sugar has to be avoided. Fortunately, since many people skip breakfast and have coffee for breakfast anyway, breakfast is a meal that won’t be difficult to pull off.
However, lunch may be tricky because there are only a few things that are allowed. Namely, only 100 grams of lean meat can be consumed. In other words, people can consume only 100g of white fish, lobster, shrimp, chicken breast or lean beef or veal. If there is some fat on the meat, it should be removed. Of course, since no oil or butter is allowed, the meat or fish should be grilled or boiled. All types of oil should be avoided, even those that are considered to be healthy. In addition to this, a person can also consume one type of fruit or vegetable, preferably an apple or a small amount of strawberries or grapefruit. The same goes for dinner when people are advised to consume vegetables such as spinach, tomato, cucumber, celery, green salad, cabbage and red radishes. Of course, instead of eating fruits and vegetables together with your lunch or dinner, you can skip them and eat them between these two meals.
When it comes to what kind of drinks you can consume on a HCG diet, lemon juice is probably the best choice, but you cannot drink more lemon juice than you can get from one squeezed lemon. A lot of water or mineral water is highly recommended and a person should make sure that they consume about 2 litres a day. Tea and coffee are allowed, but as it was already pointed out, they should be consumed in the morning.
When it comes to the spices that are allowed, keep in mind that vinegar, mustard powder, parsley, thyme, garlic, salt and pepper are all allowed and when you think about it, you don’t really need more than that for your meals to be tasty.
As you can see, although the HCG diet is strict, there are spices and other things that you can use in order to make your meals more delicious. HCG diet is really a unique diet, but it is also one of the diets that really pay off.
